Interview With Kevin Colston, Student at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Given the relative youth of the Sports Media and Analytics program at Virginia Tech, a lot of students have not been able to share their unique thoughts about the curriculum.

Kevin Colston, a junior at Virginia Tech, has long been a Buffalo Bills fan and knew from a young age that he would want a career around sports.

The SMA major offers students experience in multimedia creation, but specializes in the area of sports coverage. As of now, several students from the budding program have interned for companies such as ESPN and professional teams like the Washington Commanders.

Students enrolled in Sports Media and Analytics also have the opportunity to work for Virginia Tech's media team their senior year. This involvement can be instrumental in gaining valuable job experience and allows students to bolster their resumes before graduating.

In this interview, Colston discusses what led him to enter this specific program and what his long-term plans are.
